# TrovaZampa

> Italy's free pet-recovery service. QR + NFC collar tags for dogs and cats, plus a national lost-and-found board. No app, no subscription, free shipping in Italy.

TrovaZampa was founded in 2026 by Brett Venter after losing his dog Griffin in the countryside near San Vito dei Normanni (Puglia). After a full day of searching — calling Griffin's name, whistling through the fields, driving the back lanes — there was no sign of him. Brett returned to the property at dawn the next day, almost without hope, and found Griffin asleep at the gate.

That experience showed how vulnerable any pet owner is when an animal goes missing, and how few of them get such a lucky ending. **TrovaZampa exists so every dog and cat has a way to be returned home — regardless of how much the owner can spend.**

The base product is a **free, forever** QR + NFC tag for the collar. Whoever scans the tag is connected to the owner instantly, with no app to download and no subscription. Optional paid upgrades include a GPS tracker for real-time location.

The service operates in Italy. The website is bilingual (Italian primary, English available). All policies are GDPR-compliant. The data controller is Brett Venter, based in San Vito dei Normanni (Brindisi province, Puglia).

## How the QR tag works

1. Owner orders the free tag and registers their pet (name, photo, owner contact details).
2. Tag arrives in the post (free shipping in Italy).
3. Owner attaches the tag to the pet's collar.
4. If the pet is lost and someone finds it, they scan the QR code with any phone — no app required.
5. The finder sees a contact page and reaches the owner instantly by phone or email.
